Xerox recently announced two new products, Xerox Printed Memory and Xerox Printed Memory with Cryptographic Security, to combat worldwide counterfeiting. In the imaging industry alone, the U.S.-based Imaging Supplies Coalition estimates the “scope of imaging consumable counterfeit activity is 3.5% to 4%. This represents a cost of over $3 billion.” It’s obvious counterfeiting is a huge worldwide “market,” and Xerox has a lot to gain by coming up with a cost effective and highly secure solution.

On July 24, 2015, Xerox announced its second quarter 2015 earnings. Total revenue for the quarter was reported as $4.6 billion, down 7 percent year-to-year (YTY). Xerox executives have adjusted full year guidance to indicate revenue is expected to decline 6 percent YTY in constant currency.
