Bulk Toner Shipments Continue to Increase

Surprisingly with all of the talk about the demise of the hardcopy industry, the bulk toner market is expected to have steady growth, according to the Photizo Supplied Advisory Service Media Forecast Update. One of the reasons for this is the movement to color multifunction printers (MFPs) and monochrome MFPs that show worldwide bulk toner shipment will increase 16.6 percent and 5.1 percent, respectively from 2012 to 2013 (see Figure 1). The combination of bulk toner required for color printers and MFPs will draw even with monochrome printers and monochrome MFPs in 2015. Beginning in 2016 it is expected there will be more worldwide toner shipments for color devices than for monochrome devices.
